                   How can counselling help

 

Counselling provides a suportive, non-judgemental and confidential

environment in which to explore any emotional difficulties you may be

experiencing at the moment.

 

Counselling can help you to identify your own personal resources and

capabilities, which are sometimes lost in times of confusion and

anxiety. It will enable you to see your circumstances afresh and with

clarity so you can make the necessary changes that will help you at

this particular stage of your life. I will not make decisions for you or

impose any opinions, but will respect your individual needs. 

Throughout the counselling process I will encourage, support and help

you become empowered to look at yourself from a different

perspective.  My aim is not only to help you to cope with the current

issue or crisis, but to do so in a way that produces learning for the

future, so you can feel more in charge of your life.

Counselling provides safe and non-judgmental environment to

explore your thoughts and feelings.  Clients very often find that

it helps them to achieve:

       - Increased self-esteem and confidence 

       - Improvement in relationships

       - Better understanding of themselves

       - Increased ability to express themselves

       - Find different ways to cope with problems

       - Feel more in control of their life.

Talking to a counsellor provides an opportunity to discuss any thoughts

and feelings, as well as things you may not have previously discussed

with anyone else before.

We all have the potential to become people who live fulfilling and

happy lives, but sometimes our childhood or more recent past events

appear to hold us back from unlocking this potential.  We often find

ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour that are destructive rather

than productive.  Counselling may help you become more aware of

these patterns of behaviours and help you learn new ways of being.
